SCFTA Perris Round 8

Not too much to say about round eight of the S.C.F.T.A. at Perris. It was HOT!!!! One hundred and eight degrees HOT!

Still; one hundred sixty one entries filled thirty one heat races and twenty seven main events. Some old faces were seen that had

been absent awhile, as well as some new talent emerging. A long standing record fell, (read the captions) and a home grown

 National racer showed he's still one of the smoothest and fastest on a racetrack.

#26E Dylan Morin returned to Perris at round eight. Dylan a Pro racer has been away from the Perris track for a least a year. Great to have him back!

#15c Charlie Vanderlaan with a 15.62 second lap time is fast. In fact the fastest of the Open Amateur class.

#7A Pete Lawson not only won the Bomber Amateur main, he has a great looking set of leathers, and posted a 16.62 second lap time.

#12E Paul Ott lapped the Perris 1/4 mile at 15.25 seconds. The fastest of the Vet +35 Expert filed, which is why he won.

#53 Alyssa Flores has really picked up her pace recently. Alyssa is showing much more racing savy as well as speed. She turned a 16.49 second lap on her way to the Powder Puff victory.

#51 Justin Simons beat a field of ten Open Beginners. His fastest lap was 16.58 seconds, really good for a beginner...

#82E Travis Petton took the victory in the Bomber Expert Main. His fastest lap time was 15.23 seconds in a class that is highly competitive.

#21 Darin Dwyer with 17.14 second lap times didn't have the fastest lap in the Vet +35 Novice field. He won just the same though. The fastest lap time was posted by Shawn Chanler at 16.43 seconds....

#27 Rich Hanson from Corona Calif. posted a 15.77 second lap on his way to victory in the Vet +35 Amateur main event.

#22 Matt Spiwak is dominating the Men's 4-stk class... His 16.65 sec. laps left everyone behind.

#12E James Ott has gotten FAST! Really fast..... Ott put his head down and took the victory in the 250cc Youth Open main with a fastest lap time of  15.32 seconds!

#7x Grant Holmes from Porterville Calif. is a fixture at Perris. Grant took the victory in the 85cc Open main event posting a 15.70 second lap time and also competes in the 250cc Youth Open class.

#82 Travis Petton (the 4th) turned a 15.44 second lap time on his way to winning the 85cc 2-stk Amateur main event. This on just an 85cc mount! Impressive to say the least....

#93 Kristian Daniel Jr. was the fastest of the 50cc 4-stk beginner field, turning a 22.72 second lap time on the way to victory.

#46 Colin Petton was a double winner at round eight. Petton took the victory in both the 50cc 2-stk Amateur and the 65cc 2-stk Beginner main events! His fastest lap time was 19.92 seconds!

#72 Bandit Landers topped the 50cc 2-stk Beginner field. Landers hails from Glendale Calif.

#198 Alex Crosby will go down in history as the rider who stopped John Kocinski's undefeated streak! In the Open Unclassified race Kocinski was trying different pipes, set-up's etc. But none the less finished second to Crosby in the main event. Great Ride Alex, and a great addition to your resume!

National #98 Kayl Kolkman is so smooth, even on a borrowed Suzuki. Kolkman led every lap of the twenty lap feature, posting a fastest lap time of 14.75 seconds!

#45E Arnie Fry is adapting quickly to flat track. Here in turn three he stuff's it under #26B Ken Shilling

Troy Lee made John some new riding gear. Red on the front, yellow on the back, with skull and cross bones all over... Even a 1980 Honda Elsinore logo on his upper right shoulder..
