Lady Luck again shined at Wheel to Wheel Raceway in Victorville Ca. for the Southern California Flat Track Associations seventh consecutive winter race with beautiful weather.  KTM mounted Ryan Surratt again lead the large 50cc class from flag to flag. Andre Och ran a competitive second also on an orange machine. Kawasaki rider Dustin Phares won the 65cc Youth Race and gave Amanda Bryan, 85cc Amateur winner, a very good run in the bigger bore event. Amanda rides a very traditional early 80ccYamaha flat tracker. Devin Booher got a great jump on Andy Wood in the 85 Expert class, but a major bobble by Booher allowed Wood the trophy. Dustin Phares and Amanda Bryan meet again with their Hondas in the XR race with Phares notching his second win of the day.
Todd Vaughn grabbed the lead in the 125/250 Novice race, but Art Guilfoil made a late race pass for the win. Jimmy Wood hole shotted the 250 Expert class and had big help from other riders in the field. Cousin Alex Wood dropped his Honda on the 3rd lap and Justin Filice did likewise on the 6th. Craig Johnson followed Woods home for second. The track was getting dry slick and the elder Wood was able to adapt more readily then the other riders. Amateur 250 rider, Devin Booher again lead Andy Wood from the green light and was able to keep it up this time and checkered over the youngest Wood.
SCFTA stalwart and Yamaha TT rider Joe Steffen aced the Bomber event, while Rubin   Malaguarner did the same to the Classic Brakeless class. Malaguarner and third place Joe Pape ride hard tail flatheads, while youngster Doug Douglas, in second place, was on a cushy Brit machine. Richard Pollack had his 650 Honda based mount smoking as he won both the Senior and the Vet races. Donnie Harrell raced Pollack very close and hard on his new 450YZ Yamaha in the Vet feature. The Super Senior’s top honors were taken by Ralph Porzelt.
The Open Pro race featured a very competitive field of short trackers. Richard Pollack lead the first couple of laps with Jimmy Wood, Joe Steffin, Donnie Harrell and Alex Wood in tow. Jimmy Wood and Steffin got by Pollock on the third lap, but Pollock dogged  Steffin’s Rotax and reclaimed second on the tenth go round. Wood was gone, but the war was for second thru fifth. Harrell drove off four on the last lap and nipped Steffin at the flag. Justin Felice got a terrible start and didn’t catch the pack until the last couple of laps.
The Open Novice division was won by Todd Vaughn and the Open Amateur by Michael Oneil.  James Ottele was the leader of the Vintage 750 Class until Marvin Moore passed the lead at mid race for the checker and the win.
