H-D XLH
This XR 750 is a fresh build of
an iron XR 750 replica using a 1969 XLH engine with electric start.
This engine was completely rebuilt over a six month period. A valve
stem and spring broke and damaged the top end. Those damaged
parts were replaced with new OEM ones, not rebuilt ones. Over $8,000
was put into this bike. It has new heads, barrels, pistons, rings
valves and much more. The engine was completely taken apart, and any
and all parts that need replaced, were. The entire lower end was
cleaned, inspected and put back together professionally by Penngrove
Motorcycle company. It has new brakes, tires, and fluids. I have all
the receipts done on this bike, from the first owner to myself, the
second owner. It was a complete nut and bolt rebuild on the engine. The
frame is XR style with neck and E conversion. There are lots of
fabricated, hand-made aluminum parts. The AGM battery is mounted
under the tail. The bike was built by Don Rothwell, a mechanical
engineer and Harley racer. This was a blank check build with the
best of everything used. It has break in miles only. Less than 30
miles on the engine.

The engine was installed in my Triumph until recently; it ran
flawlessly, was oil-tight, and started beautifully on the first kick.
The gearbox shifts incredibly smoothly. The engine is equipped with the
following extras: - Electronic ignition (Boyer Bransden) - Mikuni
round-slide carburetor (24 mm, tuned by Topham) - K&N round air
filter - 12-volt battery - Only the kickstarter and gear shift lever
need to be fitted (they were required for my new engine), but these are
easily available.
